How might we use IoT and machine learning to save the bees, increase pollination, and decrease pollinator expense?
Exploring the reasons bees might be dying off (monocrops, itinerant pollination industry) and how it relates not only to chemicals but also the usability of ensuring crops (especially almonds) are pollinated successfully.
One consideration is how bees relay to one another the location of pollen already found, as opposed to where there might be additional. Growers spend up to $500/acre for beehives in the hopes of increasing the odds of successful pollination.
If only there was a way to handle the "logistics" and wayfinding in a grove so that pollination was optimized.
